Una Adderley webThe AHSN Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Una Adderley to oversee its new National Wound Care Strategy Programme.

With a clinical background in district nursing and tissue viability specialist nursing, Dr Adderley is a lecturer in community nursing at the University of Leeds.

Her education and research interests focus on wound care, clinical judgement and decision making with a particular interest in leg ulceration. Dr Adderley is currently involved in a number of wound care initiatives at both a national and international level, including leading the Legs Matter campaign. She is also a trustee of the Tissue Viability Society and a Queen’s Nurse.

Dr Adderley joins the AHSN Network on a secondment as National Wound Care Strategy Programme Director on 1 September 2018, and will be based at the Yorkshire & Humber AHSN.

The AHSN Network has been commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement to support the development of a wound care strategy for England. This is a vital piece of work in an area where there is still great variability in approach.

Dr Mike Burrows, Coordination Director for the AHSN Network said:

“I’m delighted that we have recruited Una. Her knowledge, experience and drive will be critical in delivering this work successfully for national commissioners.”
