Connect with the AHSN Network at Expo in September

Expo 2016 Collage

Building on last year’s success, the AHSN Network will again have a major presence at the NHS Health and Care Expo in Manchester from 11 to 12 September.

This includes a return of the Innovator Zone, featuring more than 30 companies from across the country who’ll be showcasing a wide range of the latest healthcare innovations and technologies that have been developed with support from AHSNs, SBRI Healthcare, the NHS Innovation Accelerator and DigitalHealth.London. You’ll find the full list of companies here.

Other highlights include:

Plenary sessions

We are leading two main stage sessions both in the afternoon of Day 1, Monday 11 September:

  • Innovation: the roadmap to adoption (led by the AHSN Network)
Innovate stage, 15.00 – 16.00The ‘Roadmap to Adoption’ plenary will provide a fast-moving, interactive session for audience members to learn about the range of support available that is dedicated to the spread and adoption of innovations in health and care.Representatives from organisations including the AHSN Network, NHS England and Office for Life Sciences will explain how initiatives such as the NHS Innovation Accelerator, the Accelerated Access Review, Innovation and Technology Tariff/Programme and Test Beds, work in alignment to create high impact solutions to widespread health and care problems.  Healthcare innovators will share their experiences and demonstrate how they have achieved success, created system efficiencies and positively impacted on patient’s lives, through the support provided throughout their journey.
  • Supporting, sharing, scaling: How are Clinical Entrepreneurs and NHS Innovation Accelerator Fellows driving innovation in the NHS? (led by the AHSN Network and the Innovation Team, NHS England)
Innovate stage, 17.00  – 18.00This joint session, chaired by Professor Tony Young, National Clinical Director for Innovation, will showcase two key programmes that are driving innovation in the NHS: the Clinical Entrepreneurs and the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA). Featuring presentations from current Fellows, find out more about the impact of their work to date, and gain insight as to how they’ve overcome some of the barriers around adoption and implementation. You can also be amongst the first to hear real-world insight of the emerging conditions for success in scaling, as we unveil findings from the new NIA Evaluation report, commissioned by The Health Foundation.

If you have already registered to attend Expo, you can sign up for the plenary sessions here. And if you haven’t already booked your place for Expo, you can do so here.

Pop Up Universities

We are leading a number of Pop Up University sessions during the two days, focusing on a diverse range of topics from how we’re improving atrial fibrillation outcomes and supporting healthcare innovators, to realising the benefits of international partnerships.

See the full schedule here.

Atlas case studies

Learn about how and where the 15 AHSNs are spreading and supporting the adoption of high impact innovation across the health and care system through our Atlas case studies on our giant iTab touchscreen.
