We’re proud to announce that two AHSNs have won and received highly commended at last night’s HSJ Awards ceremony (17 November 2022), which celebrates success and excellence in healthcare across the NHS. Three further AHSNs were nominated for the prestigious awards.

Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP) won the Digitising Patient Care award for its work on Discover-NOW (the health data research hub hosted with Imperial College Healthcare Trust and North West London ICS), recognising their work to support the integration of digital technologies to support patients with heart failure in North West London. They were also nominated in two further categories in the Primary and Community Care Innovation of the Year category and in the Mental Health Innovation of the Year category for the Rough Sleeping (RAMPH) project.

Yorkshire & Humber AHSN received highly commended in the HSJ Partnership Award category for its work with AstraZeneca and Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust on reducing the carbon footprint of asthma inhalers. The SENTINEL project supports and empowers clinicians and patients to improve asthma care and has made significant changes to the prescribing of blue asthma inhalers, offsetting over 457 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Our very own AHSN Network Focus ADHD <link to PAGE NUMBER 28> national programme was nominated in the same category. The programme is delivered in partnership with Qbtech and aims to improve the assessment process for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) using computer-based tests (measuring attention, impulsivity and activity). Earlier this year the programme won the Best Mental Health Partnership Programme Award <link to NEWS STORY NUMBER N38> at the HSJ Partnership Awards.

UCLPartners and the Innovation Agency were also shortlisted in the Primary and Community Care Innovation of the Year category. UCLPartners for its Proactive Care Frameworks, which aim to support primary care teams to manage patients with cardiovascular and respiratory long-term conditions. And the Innovation Agency for its ‘Delivering an innovative mental health prevention and promotion service in primary care networks with a new workforce, the Associate Psychological Practitioners’.

The awards took place at Evolution London on Thursday 17 November. Read the full list of winners for the HSJ Awards 2022.
