We must design and spread innovation that transforms healthcare in partnership with patients, the public, carers, and communities. Patient and public involvement has always been high on our agenda and we have further plans to bring diverse perspectives together, and listen to people’s experiences and insights.

Each AHSN works on patient and public involvement (PPI) and co-production initiatives in collaboration with their local health and care system. We come together quarterly through our national PPI group to share and collaborate nationally. This group is led by our national PPI lead and a co-chair who is a patient with NHS expertise.

We share our input to our collective PPI processes for AHSN Network national programmes and ideas and learnings from our local work and initiatives through this group.

We are currently developing an AHSN Network involvement and co-production strategy, which will be published in 2022.

Read our blog Involvement and co-production – collaboration is key for examples of our work in this area.

You can sign up for our AHSN Network Newsletter for national updates on this work.

If you are an NHS organisation or innovator and would like to access support related to patient and public involvement and co-production, contact your local AHSN.
