The pandemic highlighted what AHSNs have known for years; the broad benefits of industry working with health and social care for mutual benefits.
This is not limited to the adoption of new products and services, harnessing the expertise, insights and techniques from industry and spreading these across the health and care system is also of fundamental benefit. The need to act, inherent in the pandemic response, enabled relationships to be built between NHS and industry partners easier and faster, often breaking down barriers previously apparent. Existing AHSN relationships with industry partners meant we could also enhance their support to health and care during the pandemic.
